Hard to tell, they are both excellent cities and both in fantastic countries which are very well run. I would say that Montreal would be slightly better because it is larger and would thus have more employment opportunities. I would say that language could be a barrier in Stockholm, but Montreal is a bilingual city with both French and English spoken, and French would also be easier to learn than Swedish.

Montreal, from what i've herd, has always been a nice romantic place for people of all ages to settle down. although i have never herd of the other place you should give Montreal a try.
Stockholm perhaps. Sweden is a better country to live in overall.
