You want the 400 to go as far as possible, so cutting down on travel and lodging is the first consideration. Either go somewhere close by or search for cheap flights and look for hostel type hotels

If you go where the weather is warm, consider camping. I once took a city/country vacation w/ a friend.We camped out for 2 days, then went to the city and stayed in a nice hotel. Best of both worlds, but definitely do the camping first. Then a hot bath will seem luxurious.
