should i just travel alone? advice?

I have no idea what to do. For the past year I've saved up enough money so I can travel this December, but I have no idea who I should take with me!! My parents can't take off any time from work at the moment and I really want to take my boyfriend but the thing is is that he's saving up his money so he can move out on his own (because his parents are kicking him and his siblings out in January) and he doesn't really have a lot of money to begin with. I don't know if I should just go alone or if I should pay for him as well. I'm really really stuck here because I would love to travel with the love of my life but I don't really have the money to spend for TWO people, only myself and I don't want him to spend what he has saved and then he won't be able to pay rent when he moves out. Also, if the tables were turned I would be really sad if he travelled without me. My parents are also uncomfortable with the idea of me travelling alone. Advice?

I'm single so I can't really speak to your relationship. However I recently went on a solo trip and it was fantastic. When you travel solo, it's such a freeing feeling and you feel so accomplished at the end. I think you should go for it. It's only going to get harder to travel so you should take advantage while you can. Never let other people hold you back. If he really likes you, he'll understand .

If you enjoy travel, there's nothing wrong with traveling solo. When you go on your own, you get to see & do exactly the things that most interest you. You can also change plans on the fly if you run across an interesting festival, exhibition, concert or other event. I travel on my own frequently and always have a great time. Last weekend, I was in Issaquah, WA for the Salmon days Festival and next weekend, I'm planning on going to Albuquerque for the Balloon Festival. I'd never let not having a travel companion stop me from going somewhere interesting.

I love travelling alone as it is a great way to meet other travellers or locals.

But I also love travelling with other people.

So where do you plan to go, can you travel somewhere closer to home or for a shorter time so you can your boyfriend can travel together?

Put the money away until you and your BF can travel together. There is no urgency to go in December. Traveling alone is no fun.
