That really depends on your interests and personality. I spent over 13 years in Italy and traveled throughout Eurtope without ever getting bored. In my experience, there are interesting things to see and do, good loocal festivals and foods and nice people where ever you go. There is no one place that's best for everyone; each person will have his or her own preferences. In the time I spent in Italy most of the tourists I talked to loved it, but every once in a while, I'd run into someone who couldn't wait to leave.
If you like islands, go to Grand Cayman. It is a beautiful, small island. It has amazing beaches and the clearest/calmest water. It also has lots of things to do like: kayak tours, snorkeling, scuba diving, ect. If you do decide to go I recommend renting a condo on Seven Mile Beach away from the cruise ship ports. They have private beaches so there aren't a whole lot of people to bother you. Also I would not recommend eating at the Cracked Conch. It can be very expensive, but you do want to go to Breezes by the Bay and order the conch fritters. Also if you do go snorkeling you won't be disappointed. There is a large amount of wild life right of the shore. Anyway, I hope this helps, and I really hope you go, because I think it is a place everyone needs to visit.
P.S. you could probably stay for a few weeks-several weeks depending on how fast you would get board.
If you're looking for a tourist area, Costa Del Sol in Spain is beautiful. Its on the sea, many English speaking people and nice affordable hotels and shopping districts, but also some culture. Theres also little villages around there, I recommend Mijas at the top of one of the mountains. Beautiful. If you continue along the Spanish southern coastline you can get to Barcelona eventually. Also, from Costa Del Sol you can take a fairy and get to Morocco for a day trip.
It depends on what you enjoy doing. If you enjoy me history or major architectural works, like me, I recommend a trip to Europe, emphasizing cities like Rome, Paris, Athens, Berlin, Prague and others. But if you want a trip in your own country, the capital Washington is an example of a place with a history buried deep in its foundations.
Now, if you just want to rest and enjoy life, come to my country: Brazil. I recommend especially taking a tour along the coast, visiting the major cities, such as: Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Fortaleza, Recife and others.
I expect this has helped in some way.
