shall I move country?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
ive lived in Scotland my whole life, im a proud Scot. But the cold and dark nights gets to me. Im an outdoor person by nature and always yearn to move to a warmer climate, for better quality of life. Scotland is a great place to live, great people, world class education, jobs, culture, free health care etc. Countries like France, parts of USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand seem to offer better lofe/work living, basically better weather. I always get depressed in Winter,so I want to leave that part of my life behind.

Would you risk that for something better? Have you moved to warmer climate, was it worth it? How did you family settle? Is the frass really greener?

You can move if the other place will let you in. Not that easy anymore. Europe would be easier for you than the other countries you list.

While looking for that place suggest you start taking Winter Vacations.

Take two small ones instead of a big one. January and March are cheaper times to travel. Avoid the year end high season or school holiday weeks.

Prepare to be invaded, wait a second LONG cold DARK nights.

You could move or Prepare for winter better

Buy a Candle and get one room to 75 degrees. YES one room to 75 degrees. Get a Sad Light. Get a Female companion that cooks n cleans and does those womanly things. They dont live in cold climates; Get one from tropical warm areas full of go figure hot and warm women that do said things. :P

As an EU citizen, you can move to France without requiring a visa - although you'll need to speak French fluently to stand a chance of finding work.

To move anywhere else, you'll need high level qualifications and experience to get a work visa.

The first thing you have to remember is that you have to have something to give them. Like a job or special skill. They have to have a reason to let you in not employ someone who already lives their.

Some countries you will even have to start up a business and employ a minimum number of locals

Already have, just pack and go! Providing you got papers and the money to do it! I do not enjoy cold, rainy or snowy winters! Or anytime of the year for that matter.

You can move if the other place will let you in. That is not easy
