EUROPE!
They are less materialistic so they enjoy simplier things. Europe has 23 countries all unique in its own. Granted their are some places i would not visit due to language and stuff.
What I notice is a lot of countries are adapting/ more similiar to the American culture. Europe, is something more unique.
But since you live in NZ it differs from my opion since i live in NY.
I do want to offer some advice if you do go to NY. Taking the train during the summer sucks and it's realllllyyyy hot. I don't think people understand that when its 100 outside it gets worse taking the train and all that polution.
Overally, I think everyone needs just a few weeks to get the entire feel of NYC.
If you are interested in America, I think California would be a great place to go.
If it was me, i will choose Europe. Basically NY is a beautiful modern city. But NY is to crowded, much traffic and not relaxing. Although there will be some language barrier due to your trip to Europe, Europe do worth a visit. You can find out Europe's amazing artwork by some famous artist, rich of historical stories, and relaxing. By Eurorail monthly pass you will able to discover Europe as you wish.

Although NY is a beautiful city but Europe you can go and see a lot of more places by just taking the train.
Absolutely Europe. BecauseThere are a lot of intersting places in Europe. If you choose europe try Turkey. There are a lot of amazing places in Turkey.
I live in New Zealand to, i would choose Europe, you get to see more country's and get to experience more things, culture, food, people etc.
That would depend on where in New York, where in Europe, how much time I had and how much money I had. Also on what time of the year and where I would be staying.
I live in New York. Truthfully, ny. But not NYC! It's busy and hectic. I would go to the hamptons or montauk. It's very beautiful up there and it's nice in the winter and summer!!!
