I joined the National Speleological Society.
There are cities spread amid the USA
where members go to get free training,
meet like-minded people, and make plans
to go places for interesting things. I've
been writing California's San Francisco,
New Mexico's Carlsbad, and Utah's Salt
Lake City to learn what they are doing.
I've got on-line sites, cavechat.com, where
non-members also discuss their recreation.
There are also the International organizations.
I was going outside the USA to do things with
Canadians. Ditto, Micronesia. Some day
people like us will exchange our planet for
another far away. They will go where nobody
ever went before. To help our future species
somebody today is going to places on earth
where no person has never been before. We
explore, learn, and share with those who follow.
Be advised the group outings go no faster than
the slowest person present. We all strive to
not let our destinations kill us. All those are
black as night 24/7. Got light ?
If you live near a beach, you guys could go stop at a coffee shop(many of which are open late) and grab a warm drink/snack, watch the waves, and talk.
You could go on Yelp and search for places that are open and then order the weirdest thing on the menu.
You could sit in Wal-Mart and people watch.
You could drive until you find a cool setting where you can take a nighttime photo-shoot.
That's awesome that you and your mom can hang out like that, have fun:-)
Go to a restaurant for dessert. Some places are known for great desserts and people go for coffee/dessert after a night out.
all night diner for a milkshake. maybe an arcade if they are still open.
