Yes. Reason being, if you contract a disease that you could have prevented, you will be kicking yourself later. Yellow fever, hepatitis A, etc., can be prevented, so why not save yourself a lot of trouble? Also, think of preventing insect bites, as there are no vaccines for malaria or dengue fever- insect repellent, thick layers, etc.

First off, you will have a blast in Honduras! I went to Honduras two years ago for a mission trip with my senior class. I would just go to your doctor and make sure you are up to date on shots. When I went, I wasn't required to get shots. However, to be honest my class did get sick only because a guy in our class was very very sick before we left for Honduras. Drink lots of clean purified water. Make sure you eat enough (pack snacks in your luggage) and get good rest. There were a few who got "sick" only because we were in the sun a lot, which is weird because we are from Florida. If someone has asthma or has it but really needs the medicine, make sure you tell them to bring only because you are in a different climate.

This is something that the leaders of the church group should have found out and given you the info on. If they are not doing that, they are being negligent...they certainly need to do it. Many others may have the same question you have. There are no required vaccinations other than the routine ones you have had. there are recommended ones. Any person who did not have the routine shots most kids get is going to be at risk. See site below.
