Trough my whole life I've always wanted to go out in the world in search of lost/mysterious/legendary/mythological cities or artifacts If you've done some research you should know that some might have existed or does still exist today. If we don't find anything that's fine, but just think of all the amazing things you would see on the trip. I'm looking for dedicated people that actually want to do this. I know there's someone out there who have the same dream like me. I don't want to get an awesome education, then go to work, earn money, pay bills and then repeat the rest of my life. I want to live and explore the unknown and always wanted to. One of the places I would like to go is an Island in the Dragon's Triangle south of Japan, the reason is because there's said to be a lost artifact hidden in the jungle there. Another location is somewhere in China. Anyways if you really want to do this, leave you're home and follow me with some others feel free to e-mail me on these two e-mail addresses: martin-ellingsen@hotmail.com or seriksy@yahoo.com. In the message you can tell me something about you're self and why you want to join. (I accept only people from the age of 17-30, I might make an exception if I find you interesting) and I will explain everything in detail. You also have to be in good shape, if not you have 2-3 years to do so, because its then I'm planning to leave. Withing that time period, you can train, learn how to survive and try to find some interesting locations to go to. I know I'm young but at the age from 18-30 you are in you're best years and you don't get any younger. Sounds dangerous? well you only live once and thats my motto. So please let me know either here, or send me a message on my e-mail addresses. Looking forward to read them. Remember, 3 years or so, and then I'm off. I already got 2 people who wants to do this (friends) You only live once so don't waste it, make it count!
Sounds like fun. I kinda like the idea really and people who find this too idiotic, then they never been to a true adventure before. Would you visiting places in Southeast Asia, like some hidden or borrowed temple in Bali Island?
I do hope you realise that you will need the permission of the government of each country you intend to visit in order to search for "lost artifacts"', and that permission is only given to authorised archeologists! If you do, miraculously, find something you will not be allowed to take it out of the country. You also need to be aware that these myths are just myths, there will be no hidden treasure. Surely you don't think you are the first person to have thought of this, people have been doing it for centuries and, if there was anything to be found you'll be much too late.
And how do you intend to fund this trip, because it will be illegal for you to work in the majority of countries you intend to visit.
If you really want to get involved in this type of thing you need to know what you're doing. So go to university and study archeology. You will then have the credentials and training to undertake this "quest" properly, without endangering yourself or others, or ending up in jail in some third world country.
If you are really serious, there's a few things you must take into account.
you will need a passport and visa. You can get in a lot of trouble if you cross a border without proper authorization to do so. Not all countries are like the U.S. that will simply deport you-other countries will jail you and worst case scenario torture you if they believe you are some sort of spy.
you will need money, and I mean a LOT of money. you will need to learn about money exchange rates and the relative value of currencies, and make plans for how long you will stay and where. Traveling without a proper plan is incredibly dangerous, and your adventure can quickly escalate into a nightmare.
how exactly you plan to go into the wilderness is something you must take into consideration. Most countries have laws prohibiting this sort of adventures, mainly for safety and security of the citizens and tourists. If you do decide to go, it is imperative to take people with expertise on many subjects-doctors, geographers, historians, hikers, etc. Usually the people going off on adventures like the one you plan are experts on some field and build large crews to ensure everything goes smoothly.
Unfortunately for you, we are not in the days of exploration when you could just sail off the coast of Britain and hope to find a land of adventure in the americas. Now there are several laws limiting travel and adventure, and the world is such a dangerous place that simply learning survival skills will not be enough to succeed in the long-term in some foreign land.
So, you plan to go without money except for paying for the airfare. Good luck, you need it.
your wacko... what stranger is gonna team up with you to go travel the world? That's Idiotic! Just ask friends not strangers Indiana.
