But since I'm nit that well travelled I have no idea where to go. I was thinking London and possibly Scotland for its countryside but other than that I have no idea where to go.

Well, London is a great city, and if you haven't been there, you should definitely go - but what do you mean by "difficulties using public transport"? Driving is not really an option in London, especially if you've just passed your test. ... So if you can't use public transport at all, maybe it would be better to explore the countryside first.
