It depends how you perceive their question. what you may understand is not always what the asker has tried to ask. it could be just that you're not familiar with the topic that he is interviewing you about so you felt that way. while his questions are complete to the one who is of the same domain you however on the other hand might have a problem understanding it completely and require much more detail so you should ask for much more detail. If all I said above isn't true then it is just that the person asking is not as accurate and thorough as you.
