Has anyone traveled to Portugal?

I've never left the United States and gone anywhere in Eastern Europe. But I'm thinking of Portugal. I never had their cuisines or stayed at a hotel there.

It is a nice place. Has some really nice historical monuments. After all if was the world s first superpower. Be careful of the gypsy's who are also pickpockets.

Southern Portugal has cork forests and that alone is interesting. Southern Portugal has a large English speaking community so TV is decent to excellent.

Oporto is the birthplace of Port wine. The sidewalks are absolutely gorgeous mosaics, listed as a world-wide UNESCO heritage feature.

Beaches are not as plentiful as Spain but still very nice.

This is the place to buy things! Much cheaper than other parts of Europe.

Just got back from here in October 2014.

Portuguese cuisine has plenty of olive oil. I didn't encounter any bullies in Portugal. If 1878 means British hooligans, that demographic will mostly be in the Algarve beach towns but not elsewhere.

Lodging in Portugal is cheap (<$30), as is transportation. Dining is fairly cheap. Lisbon got thoroughly trashed by the 1755 earthquake, so Coimbra and Porto have better architecture. If you venture into the eastern mountains, you can find sheep & goat cheese easily.

Portugal is in South Western Europe, not Eastern Europe.

It is a good place to relax and have vacations

If you go to Algarve there are some british hooligans

but they won't bother you ,they are just noisy and dirty

do not take a taxi if it has been recently used by one of them,

they tend to drink and puke a lot

enjoy your vacation

Im portuguese but i live in NJ and i go there every 2 years. I cant get enough of it! Our cuisine

is cheap and amazing. Many places you have a full meal with drinks and dessert included and you pay like 5 euros wich is like $8. Hotels are not very expensive either. Im not too sure on prices but from friends of mine that go there say its cheap.

Don't bother, too many bullies in Portugal

It isn't in Eastern Europe you idiot. Look at a map and read a guide book
