Why is Vodka so popular in Russia?

Do all Russian men and women drink vodkas in night out at clubs or just small pints at home or pubs?

It's much more popular in Finland actually. Russians drink a various range of alcoholic beverages: cognac, white and red wines, beer, vermouth (Martini etc), cocktails and many many others.

Q: "Do all Russian men and women drink vodkas in night out at clubs or just small pints at home or pubs?"

A: I personally am intolerant to alcohol, + even if I wasn't I still wouldn't put that toxin into my body. It's a weapon of mass distraction. As for nightclubs then cocktails, light alcoholic drinks and energy drinks are much more popular than plain vodka.

Following stereotypes and imposed trends, women are more into wines, sparkling wines (Champagne) and vermouths, while men would be brainwashed to "prefer" cognac, whiskey and/or vodka. Poor people, students/young adults drink beer (guys mostly) and sweetened alcoholic beverages (girls mostly).

Vodka is probably the most available strong alcohol here. That's it. Non-alcoholics drink it rarely anyway: only on holidays that are celebrated together. And a lot of women prefer wine, and a lot of men would rather drink brandy (konyak).

Who said to your that? Split his face, here is beer most popular among alco.

Vodka (at least now) is 1) cheap cause to make guests (with yourself) overdrunk, 2) it (or cognac - to the taste of

regaler) is symbol of lond heart-to-heart talk.

You might as well ask why whisky and bourbon are popular here in the US.

Not so popular like you think)

its the hard stuff they love-
