New Orleans is a unique city, with excellent food, great music, good bars and a pretty good casino. It is great to go to in November and December to avoid the crowds of Mardi Gras and the heat/humidity of summer.
Las Vegas is blast if you've never been. If you're a football fan, it's worth going to during the Super Bowl even if your favorite team isn't playing. I've heard the same thing about basketball and March Madness.
