As where safety is concerned, why would you travel to another country to get involved with gangs, buy drugs and fail to pay for it?

well, Honduras has the highest per capita homicides in the world, that's a fact. However, your 5% chance of getting killed within minutes of arrival is very far fetched, seriously. I don't think that you really believe that, do you?
Honduras is a beautiful country with friendly people and it is relatively inexpensive. That's why people travel to Honduras. Also, a lot of people travel to the Bay Islands of Honduras where crime is so much less.
5% chance is an exaggeration . The odds are probably less the 4 1/2 % . Just kidding , but seriously my friend's husband was murdered there 2 years ago when he returned to his home town .
They saw his shiny pickup truck and stabbed him during a robbery . My friend is still trying to get the paperwork finished to adopt his orphaned daughter . I was there last year and didn't feel threatened but it really isn't a great place to visit compared to places like Panama , Costa Rica , Colombia , Mexico .
Honduras has some great Mayan ruins (Copan) and an incredible barrier reef for diving and snorkling and the government has been able to shelter these areas from most problems of crime and security. Also if one takes the proper precautions, it is possible to avoid crime in other areas but these areas are very dangerous.
I've been there like 5 times because my mom is from there and it may be a little dangerous but if you want to be safe, you should probably go to a resort in the bay islands like in Roatan, Honduras.
It has beautiful sceneries, mountains and super beautiful women.
If you know how to walk there nothing will happen to you.
Ive been there a few times and no one did any harm to me.
In fact the people there were helpful to me.
I want to go. Unlike some people, exaggeration through the media does not intimidate me. Heck, I wouldn't mind living there.
