I personally have a long held belief that the Greeks have never been allowed to be themselves - certainly not since WW2 - when western Powers such as UK and USA controlled Greece imposing upon it a kind of Greece which was not Greek - if you can understand that. Only a Greek can really know because I'm British but while I know something of the Greeks my brain is not up to thinking clearly enough to come up with an answer to the problems faced by the Greeks.
It is in my opinion a 'mess' made outside Greek control.
In essence I want the Greeks to become Greek and not simply an appendage of the EU or anywhere else.
One can but live in hope.
