See 1st site below and sign up for their forum to have access to info on moving to Peru. i moved to Mexico a seven years ago. I did not have money to travel and make a scouting trip. I contacted people on line living in Mexico and learned a great deal from the. I think communicating with ex-pats in Peru would be helpful to you.

I understand the desire to relocate. I am in the process of doing that myself, however do not even consider moving to a foreign country until you have spent some time there. Visit first. Peru might not be right for you. Ecuador, Chile, Uruguay or Panama might be a better choice for you but you can't tell by reading books or articles on the internet. You have to put boots on the ground. I personally traveled to Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, Puerto Rico and a few of the Caribbean Islands before settling on Panama. Take a vacation, go visit.

since you wanna move to Peru I assume that you have been there for longer period of times (minimum 3 months or otherwise it would not make any sense for you to move there or any other country for that matter).

The next thing is to find out the requirements. Unless you have a minimum guaranteed income from outside of Peru ($ 18,000./year wouldn't cut it), you won't get a resident permit. If you are retired you could qualify with a lower income from outside of Peru.

i dont know about any CE files, or anything you have to do before moving to Peru, but i used to live in Washington DC, I know live in Lima..its nice down here, you′ll like it, and there also many americans leaving down here..

Hello I am looking to move to peru. I live in Virginia with an income of 18000$ annually. I have been reading some forums about how to move. I am somewhat confused. Do I get to peru then file for a CE? Or do I do that in the states? Any info on steps to moving would really help. Thanks.
