Check out Florida! There's so much to do, and there's something for every age. When I'm in Orlando, I stay somewhere along International Drive because it's central to all of the parks and right in the middle of where all the good restaurants are. Because you're going with a large group, you might want to check out a place such as Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa. There's plenty of dinner theaters and other things to do besides going to the parks, although I'm assuming that's the main reason you want to go.
Kennedy Space Center is relatively close by too, which is fun for both adults and kids. Would recommend taking a trip over there. If you want to go to the beach, Daytona Beach isn't far from Orlando, and you can hang out on the boardwalk or check out Daytona International Speedway.
Have fun, wherever you go!
I think you have already chosen best places....
Disneyland and Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags. If you want to do the tourist thing go to Santa Barbara, it is gorgeous!
In California: The Redwoods National Park, Lake Tahoe, Jacksonville, Cannery Row, Big Sur, Downtown San Francisoc, Yosemite National Park, Bodie Ghost Town, Town of Calico (Ghost town) Santa Barbara, Hearst Castle.. and on and on
National parks.
Wisconsin Dells! Best water slides ever, and lots of neat places downtown. In my opinion, it's better than disney world.
If your looking for amusement parks - I'd say you picked the best ones, however ID like to offer an alternative... Have you looked into vacationing in Alaska? It may sound silly but believe me, it is life-changing going there. Especially in the summer!
Just a few things...
- Sightseeing galore!! Everywhere you look you will see mountains, crystal clue water, flowers, trees, animals, etc... Your eyes won't be able to rest.
- Inexpensive boat rides that you can go and see otters, orca whales, seals, etc.. In their natural habitat.
- For the more adventurous, there's heli rides that take you across some of the national parks where you can take a view of the land and it's inhabitants (bears, moose, wolves, etc..)
- Then let's not forget about the beer (weird transition, I know but it cannot be forgotten! Lol). There are a lot of home brewers that turn pro - and hey have summer festivals where you get to try them all out! There games, food, boose... Just a great time..
