Safest places to live?

I'm gay and I'm curious to know where the safest places for gays to live are.

I'm 17 now and I want to study abroad and later live wherever I go. I've heard places like Canada, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Australia, the UK, and the Netherlands are great places for LGBT people to live...HOWEVER

Sweden, Denmark, the UK, and the Netherlands are recieving large numbers of Muslim immigrants who are VERY intolerant and violent towards homosexuals. I've read SO MANY articles about muslims beating gays for no reason, other than the fact that their gay in the Netherlands and Belguim. Muslims are invading gay villages and braking into gay bars beating gays to death with bats in the UK. I haven't heard anything really significant or worrisome on anti-gay violence in Sweden and Denmark by Muslims. Mostly just anti-semitic violence in Malm? , Sweden. Nothing much from Denmark. I did, however read an article that a famous gay guy was being called "******" and "gay pig" daily by muslims youths in N?rrebro, Denmark. I also read one article that a gay couple was harrassed and kicked by a Muslim man just for holding hands in a "muslim community".

I'm scared. I want to live in a country where I don't have to worry about being beat, tormented, harrassed for being gay, holding hands, living in the same neighbourhood, raising kids, etc. I live in the US now and it's alright, but Canada, Iceland, & Australia seem nice. I've even thought about Greenland.

Please help!

You read too many articles. I live in Sweden and the picture you pain is just ridiculous. What you say is simply not true. But to be honest you don't seem to be interested in what's true. You have your opinion and no one is budging that, right?

But in that case go to Bangkok. The gay scene there is enormous and gay people are accepted in society. Not to mention all the lady boys. Go down to Soi Cowboy and there is a huge gay street not far from there.

Highlands NC. I have lived in highlands my whole life. It is a small town and many people own summer homes here such as Keith Urban and Reese Witherspoon. In the magazine good housekeeping it was among the top 5 gay friendly places to live. This doesn't mean everyone is a part of the gay community (although several are) but it is stress free for people of all ages and diversities. People here are very friendly and welcome diversity. but keep in mind that it is small and not a city. The closest walmart is in the next town 30 minutes away. People find the mountains and the atmosphere very relaxing and genuinely different. If you enjoy hiking and site seeing it's all here. Beautiful waterfalls and mountain peaks and over looks. Even from your own back porch.

Most of what you hear about the "Muslim problem" in those country is simply racist propaganda is just not true.

95% of the jobs in Greenland are in the fishing industry so I hope you know how to fish.

Melbourne, Australia is one of the most gay friendly cities in the world, it has a very big multicultural and diverse population. It is also a great place to study and live. You'll be very fine there!

I read the BBC news daily and never see any attacks on gays in the UK by muslims. I think you are reading too much propaganda.
