Since dancing the night away at exotic places and an economical trip are your main priorities, I would say Puerto Rico is the place to go. It's probably much closer as well which should lower the airfare. Have been to both places, but Puerto Rico is the " Bomb " as far as " gettin' in on " is concerned. Costa Rica on the other hand will be more expensive and quieter,...and more dangerous. Good luck !

Costa Rica is less developed than PR. The night life in PR will be more exciting, but the beaches and natural aspects of CR are nicer. Go on tripadvisor.com and read what people have to say about both.

Night life might be better in PR, but Pura Vida in CR is something that has to be experienced. Maybe you are not ready for CR, and PR will be more your speed.

CR is a nature paradise,,,,so much to offer, and lots of activities, by the beach and inland.

Go where your heart directs you,,,but CR is worth seeing,,,,sooner or later.

Me and a friend are gonna go on a vacation this summer but we don't know which would be better! We wanna go go wherever has better beaches, awesome little shops, good food but most important NIGHT LIFE!

We want dancing and fun places to hang out all night. We're also college students so whichever is more economical would be nice too.
