What to pack:

-light clothes, t-shirts, etc. Choose material easy to dry if possible.

-Also, 1 pant and 1 or 2 long sleeves shirt.

-Shoes and sandals, bathing suit, a hat if you want to protect from sun...

-Sunscreen and sunglasses

-Pills that you use or must use like Tylenol, etc.

-Depending on where you'll be, it could be good to bring a little bottle of OFF for mosquitos.

You'll be able to shampoo, soap and others personal stuffs here in Costa Rica if you don't want to bring everything from home.

About spending money, it will depends on you but I think that 1400$ will be enough for the whole trip.

For example, a good food at the restaurant will costs you between 13-16$. I ate a tuna fillet in Manuel Antonio for like 15$...

You can eat for lest than that too....But it gives you an idea.

Taxis and buses are cheap.

Clothes : Light, tropical stuff including maybe one light rain jacket, that's it ! Two bathing suits of course !

Money : Costa Rica is not cheap anymore. Figure $400 + for the airfare plus fees, then a min of $180/day since you are renting a car ( a small 4 x 4 SUV I hope ), for approx $ 2,100 total. Better to have a bit more than a bit less ! lol
