I'm 16, I've never been abroad once, and I really want to experience different countries, sights, sounds,
foods, I love experiencing new things, absolutely love it!
I'm nowhere near that lol! :D
Many times. I travel abroad every year and even lived in Italy for 14 years and traveled extensively throughout Europe while I was there before I retired and returned home to Colorado in the US. Travel is a wonderful experience as you know. Keep this as a future goal, save toward travel expenses and it will happen for you when you're older.
Have you been to France or any other nearby countries or are you saying abroad as in crossing an ocean?
Whether you want it to be 100 or 1000 miles away you should save some money and make it happen. The only way to satisfy that curiosity is to explore different parts of the world. We never really know what people are experiencing in Delhi or Johannesburg, unless we visit those areas. But, just visiting often isn't sufficient because it is unlikely you will get to meet any of the locals on a close basis.
If you visit a place with volunteer work, a competition, taking a class or whatever, you learn about the culture, politics, values and challenges. It becomes a much more enriching experience. Not to say there isn't value in walking the streets of New York, but it is pretty cool when you meet someone who is living and working in that city.
Hope you follow your dreams and desires. There is a lot to be seen and experienced so you better get going soon.
I live in New Zealand but never left the country until I was 25!! And that was to Australia..which kind of doesn't count...although it did to me at the time. I really wanted to travel ever since I was 11 so it took me a looooonnnngg time but where I really wanted to go was Europe, which took me more time as I didn't get there until I was 33! I lived in England for a couple of years and travelled when I could. You are SOOOOOO lucky to live where you are. I worked in schools where school trips went to Austria and Italy for crying out loud! You will get there.
Been to about 50 Countries all around the World, but at your age - none. You have a life time to enjoy the experiences. Concentrate on getting a job, before anything else.
Oh yes. I live in the USA. I've been to all of Western European countries. I've been to north and South Africa. I've been to the Middle East, I've been to all iof North America (canada, Mexico). Been to many pacific and Atlantic islands and to 25 out of the 50 states.
As you said, meeting people from different cultures, food, languages is amazing. It opens your eyes and widens your horizons.
I have also been to your beautiful country: London, Manchester in England and Edinburgh and the highlands in Scotland - I loved it.
You are so young... You can do it and I'm sure you will.
Yes, I've been to about 28 countries mainly in Western Europe. Lots of great places, food, drinks, scenery, culture, buildings, art, museums, people.
