Yes, it looks like a good planning.
I never went to an all inclusive resort in Costa Rica yet, but I heard about a good website:
Costa Rica Travel And Vacations.
I like that website because it compares prices from different places and gives suggestions.
Here I give you the link:

Hope you can find something good with that links!
Have a great trip!
How old are your kids?
I agree with what the other guy said about staying in an "All Inclusive Resort". You will not get the Costa Rica experience in some resort. There are resorts all over the United States... you don't need to go to CR to find one.
What do you like to do? Surf? March isn't a wonderful month for surfing in Costa Rica, but your best chance for waves is probably still the northern pacific coast. Check out a volcano, zip line. Rent a car and just explore. Go down to the southern pacific coast and just relax.
You can find out how much the all inclusive resort is to stay at "Barcelo Playa Tambor". That is a very nice all inclusive resort at the beach then u can go up to the cloud forest.
Here is info on the cloud forest.

You can look up plane ticket prices on cheaptickets.com
Be care not to pay for things on the internet when it comes to international travel make sure not to do business with shady travel agencies. Make sure they have a good background if u do.

Hello,
My family of five including myself would like to travel to Costa Rica; we are looking to spend between 7 and 8 days there, around the time of March.
What we would like to do is spend half of the trip in an all inclusive resort and the remainder of the trip in a tree top (preferably not a resort).
I am wondering what the price range of a trip like this would be including flights (out of Detroit).
If anyone has any experience doing something like this, or recommendations they may have.
Thanks Matthew
