No buddy costa is nice place and you can easily find cheap hotel and cheap food but for that you must have to bargaining with people you can easily find the hotel room in 40$ 50$ per night if you want more less than you have to go to downtown.
is not expensive,compare to other countries,for you to have an idea,500 colones is $1,and i think $1 is 1.5 pounds,and a nice hotel in the mountains or at the beach could cost $25 a night,food is not expensive at all,you can go to a restaurant with $60 and eat a lot,and yes,we have lots of mexican restaurants,but a lot of international restaurants too
Im sure its really cool , its a hot place to stay at but if thats what you like its cool , i would suggest you go some where colder but the wheathers cool , beaches cool , hotels cool etc
