yes, Colombian drug cartels still do exist, however, they are smaller and less powerful than in the old days. One cartel might be specialized to run drug labs, and another one is specialized for the logistics. The Mexican drug cartels however are the ones that purchase most of the cocaine and are in charge of distribution. Today, Colombia is the world's second largest cocaine producer behind Peru.
