I am British and whereas I had been on foreign trips with my family and Germany alone when I was 17 with a few European countries my first real big trip alone was when I was 19 and I travelled to Indonesia to meet my friend.
I fell in love with the place despite the heat and all the other things that ate common in Asian cities, I loved everything.
Most of all I loved the people and the culture especially the strong family values and ties exactly the same as my family even though we are not Asian. It was also another new language to learn :)
Now at 25 I spend 3 months a year every year , I have seen Kratatau and other volcanoes , hunted crocodiles and seen elephants playing football .
Each year something new and a little bit stays inside me.
Indonesia, Malaysia , Singapore and the Philippines are worth seeing as is Australia.
I intend to visit India during the IPL next year
Well, I'm from the USA but I've been to England and Italy numerous times growing up.
I really recommend Italy, Rome is so beautiful actually most of Italy is
And England was a lot of fun and there was the benefit of English speakers so I didn't have to have a translator.
