And I want to know how people in the world spend their summer vacations.
So please tell me about your country's usual summer vacation!!
I want to know any kinds of information.
...I'm sorry for my poor English.
In South Africa, the summer is in December and January. Because of the festivities around Christmas and New Year, lots of students take on summer jobs as waiters in cafes, restaurants in the towns and cities along the coast where many people go for their annual vacation at the sea. Other vacation jobs are drivers, deliveries, shop assistants and in tourism.
Those students who are fortunate enough not to need to earn extra money, spend most of their vacation at the beach, swimming and surfing. They either stay in the house with their parents and family, or they join up with other young people and rent a holiday house or go camping. When they are not on the beach, they like to have barbecue parties, called "braai". This involves quite a bit of drinking of wine and beer, and of course a lot of meat is also cooked over the fire. This "braai" takes some hours, and students (and other South Africans, too) enjoy this tradition.
Many South Africans travel to the Kruger National Park for their vacation where they enjoy watching the wildlife, elephants, giraffe, buffalo, hippos, rhinoceros, zebra, various buck and many more.
A large percentage of South African businesses, like the building trade and factories, close over the Christmas and New Year period. So, a lot of people are on the road at that time of the year.
I live in the United States. For most summers, I usually just stay home. Sometimes I go to the pool or shopping, but that's usually it!
I cannot speak for others, but I think some people travel to another state or country. Also, people go to summer camps.
Then there's the 4th of July! We watch fireworks, barbecue, and have a good time.
Well I lived in Europe (Belgium) for the last 10 years. Over there, I've been able to travel to lots of different places and visit lots of different cities in the vacations. I've been to England, to Paris, to Switzerland, to Italy, Germany and the Netherlands. Now I live in the usa, and I hope that I can also visit lots of different states and see lots of cool stuff!!!
Well, living in America where I have no money at all, I usually just sit at home all summer. Occasionally go to the beach.
