Cheap volunteering abroad! (I'm 16)?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
I'm 16 and am looking for a project abroad to take part in for 2 weeks. Everything I've come across comes to roughly £2000. To me, that's a little steep! Anyone know any good programmes that are reasonably cheap? Leave links please!x

That is steep. Especially for 2 weeks. 2 weeks in a poor country can give you almost a 2 month stay, depending on how you spend it. Try google some non profit organizations.

Hi Kirsten,

I know that most organizations in Europe and the U.S. that organize volunteer programs are very expensive, actually it is a rip-off. I live in the U.S. and I am familiar with volunteer programs in Latin America, but not through any big organizations. I personally have some experience but only in Latin America. The cost is typically US$ 150./week or less which includes room and board. This will give you an indication and tells you have much money these organization in Europe or the U.S. make off you.

Good luck.

You may visit my home in Thailand. You live and eat free and just do house cleaning, cooking, and massaging me. Some time off to tour on your own money.

Airport pick up possible. C U

type into Google ''Camp America'' there programs are usually quite good. Quite well known too.

I hope to do something along the lines of what you are hoping to do.

Hope it works out for you :)
