Would you buy a house if the front yard is on a major slope coming toward the house?

I looked at a house similar (sloping yard) before I bought my home. I loved the house but hated the yard & didn't buy it for that reason.

Is the water on a private well? If not, I've never heard of sharing a meter with an owner who has 7 acres.

Slopes can be a major problem unless it's a mild and dry climate.

Need more details

The sloping yard aside, the shared water with meter is a major issue. Unless it's a private well (and why would you need a meter?) stay away from the property.

There are RED FLAGS all over this property and you should not enter into a contract. Sloping yards could mean a sinkhole and why would there be one meter for two separate properties unless someone built it without a permit. If you have an agent have him pull a property profile and check to see if there is

only one APN # or two APN #. There is legal issues here that you want to avoid.

N

I'd be wary of two things: the shared water meter (I assume this must mean a private well of some sort) and possible drainage problems due to that sloping front yard.

No, I would not. It's not even legal to have one water meter for two separate properties.

No.

NO.

Would you buy a house if the front yard is on a major slope coming toward the house and the back yard is only big enough to back up and turn around so you drive out and the only yard you have is on one side that also slopes downward. And your water meter is shared with your neighbor were you have to check how many gallons of water you use so your not paying half of theirs each month plus the house was built in 1978. Beautiful house and it's had some work on it so it's really nice but.......It comes with 7 1/2 acres but the only level part of the property is way on the far side away from the house. Has lots of deer on it too. If your a hunter. Their asking $150,000.
