Which one is better to live -Rented house or an apartment?

Spousal support is not permanent. It will be for 4 years. May be I will get job after completing my studies.

The costs for rented rooms, apartments vary between 600-999. Is it okay if I choose to live at an apartment costing $950. or shuold I look a cheaper place. The place I have chosen is good and quite safe.

Your rent should never be more than 1/3 your income & most landlords will require that to rent to you. If the $1800 is your only income right now you cannot afford paying more than $600 in rent

Houses are generally more expensive to live in. They have much, much higher utility costs.

Are planning on getting a job or is $1800 your permanent income? If it's your permanent income, you need a roommate no matter whether you decide on house or apartment. You don't have enough income.

houses ? less expensive? not when u do real world math.

stay where u live.

get employed and earn 1500 month then

save up 2000 -3000 while u learn local rent game/rules.

go get a small safe inexpensive 1 bed/bath apartment.

I live in Kanata, Ottawa. I am planning to move. At present I don't have job But I am getting spousal support $1800. Is it okay for me to live in a rented apartment that will cost me $950. Or should I look less expensive rented houses at $650. Will I face problems living at low cost rented houses?
