How often does it rain in England?

Not as much as people like to say. Although we experience a lot of cloudy days, it's not unusual to have long dry periods. London receives less annual rain than Rome.

The main problem is that our weather is very changeable and hard to forecast accurately. it's impossible to plan an outdoor event or holiday in advance and guarantee dry weather.

Good answer from RR. Climate change means we tend to get longish wet periods followed by several months of drought, although it varies a great deal according to where in the country you live. Generally the east side is drier than the west. You can always check the weather forecast for the next few days on

The weather in England is much more variable, and changes more rapidly, than you are used to. Four kinds of weather in one day is not unusual. Sometimes it rains several times a day, sometimes days pass before it rains. The most accurate weather forecasts come from looking at the sky.

going from experience about three times a week, that said only about one day a week in general will be notably rainy unless it is a very wet month like February last year.

never as much as we like to complain about it.Complaining about our weather is a British thing but in reality we are very lucky weather wise compared to some parts of the world.

so far it has rained twice this year once for 11 days and once for 2 days.

Daily at present. Google for weather patterns for the rest of the year
