Their queen is way uglier than our prez.
You can say very little until you learn some decent English. The usual argot that Americans call English is generally very limited of vocabulary, gramatically incorrect and often obfuscates and confuses the meaning of whatever they were trying to say.
Americans also seem to have virtually no accurate knowledge of geography, legal or political systems outside of their own state - let alone the whole of the USA. They seem to think that everywhere in the world is, or should be, like them. I suppose that Hollywood film producers have some blame for this: for example Disney are responsible for at least two generations of Americans having no idea of the orignial legends of the Greek gods, or the actual (as distinct from the mucked about) story of "The little mermaid" as written by its author: Hans Christian Andersen.
For evidence of this, and more, you only have to scan the pages of Yahoo Answers. It's a pretty bad advertisement for the US educational system.
Why not ask your friend (if that is what he really is, or this just another American re-definition of the word "friend"?) why he/she has a downer on Americans?
You certainly don't have enough ammunition at the moment to fire back without making yourself look like a floundering dick-head, like "Norman Est Omen" clearly is.
Why not find out why she is so down on Americans and then see if there is any truth to what she is saying. I must say that hearing someone in the US saying that Birmingham (my home town) is totally Muslim and a no go area for non-Muslims does make me think that most people in the US are either totally thick or totally guillable. Should you be surprised that we feel rather down on you when you talk such utter claptrap
BRITISH people are not ALL from ENGLAND...
Sure way to lose an argument. Tell her she is right and maybe she will shut up.
What area is he from? more specific the better. I can give you the horrible truth about all sorts of places!
