Average salaries in the UK(London)?

I'm planning to move to London to study at the university, and I'd like to know how much money do people earn at average. I mean, some salaries are considered huge in one city/country and are barely fine in the other.

I know that London is a really expensive city, but how much should I earn to rent a good flat, eat well, buy pretty and high-quality clothes?

£25,000 per year is the average for London, but many people earn only £12,000 and many others earn far more. For a really good life in London you will need £30,000 to £35,000per year

You're coming to London to study, yet you sound like you're planning to work more or less full time and in a well-paid job at that, to support a comfortable lifestyle - are you sure your expectations of student life are entirely realistic?

I'd say you can forget about renting a 'good flat', your best bet is a flat-share or better yet some sort of university accommodation if such a thing is available for your university and course. Even a small and modest flat will cost you £10k per year, plus bills, plus various set-up fees (lease, inventory, etc.).

To rent your own flat, you'll be looking at £1,000+ a month (and easily more) on rent; so you'll need to be earning around three times that. Most young people in London flat share due to the high property and rental prices.

If you're a student, your work hours and options will be limited (obviously you won't be able to do a full time / 9-5 job); most students work in retail or hospitality / catering

You are going to study, you can only work a limited number of hours a week. You won't be able to afford your own place.
