Will it be too hot at night?

I've never actually been to Monteverde myself, but judging by the elevation I'd imagine it can get chilly. It's even higher above sea level than where I live in San Jose--and here it gets to the point where I'm actually too cold at night and sleep under a big thick quilt. So bring a sweater or something...just in case.

According to wikipedia, the mean annual temperature in Monteverde is about 18 Celsius (64 F) which, combined with the breeze, might actually feel cold to you--it does to me!

As for the bugs...they shouldn't be a huge issue. And if they are, the hotel already knows that and will likely be equipped with mosquito nets.

Enjoy your trip!

Yes, in March, Costa Rica is very hot.

I can suggest you one simple thing: bring a bed-net.

So it will allow you to open the windows at night without being bothering by insects.

I live in Costa Rica and I don't have A/C.

With a fan it is okay and I open the window at night.

Have a great trip!

chances are you will have a bed net, even if you don't you wont be hot up there, the altitude is high, so in the day it will be warm, but at night it cools off, its actually perfect. some of the beachtowns get hot, but up there you will be just fine

Yes.

We are staying at a hotel in Monteverde, Costa Rica in March. But the hotel has no A/C and the windows can open but all of the bugs will come in. Will it be uncomfortable to sleep there at night?
