I'll be taking a vacation to Lima Peru for two weeks. I've never been to Peru. I want to make the most out of my visit. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hello Shane ...Is is summer here nice to be in Miraflores near to the beaches, good restaurants , bars. pubs ...We have many museums to visit and the colonial part of the City... 2 weeks in Lima is a long time , you can be in Lima for a week and then go out to places to the south , like Pisco , 3 hours by bus ... there are the Ballestas Islands and the Paracas National Reserve ... then Ica +1 hour by bus, there's The Huacachina an oasis in the desert, Las Dunas and make sandboard , boogies. tubular ... there you can be 2 days and two hours + is Nazca there is the Nazca Lines ... Return to Lima from Nazca is 6 hours in a good and safe tourist bus ... if you want you can make a short trip to Cuzco - Machu Picchu from Lima... for this you need 3 or 4 days .. flight about 1 hour. Ok ... this is an idea for you,,,u need information ...

Try to be 1 week in Lima.

Then the other week in Cuzco for a US $ 700 expense. You'll regret not going to Cuzco after being so close!

In Lima you can visit some Adobe Brick ruins: Pachacamac (25 km south) and Pucllana in Miraflores. You can take a paraglider ride over the Miraflores coast for US $ 35 an hour. There are 2 bus rides, one to Downtown Lima and another to The Port of Callao and it's fortress: REAL FELIPE

Miraflores is great to hang out and there's a lot of good places to eat and drink. You'll never forget our specialties: Ceviche, Pisco Sour, Lomo Saltado, Causa, Pulpo al Olivo, Aji de Gallina, Tacu-Tacu, etc. Also in Lima there are more than 10,000 Chinese restaurants!

Depends, do you plan on only being in Lima? If you do than ain't much to do other than visiting museums unless you have friends . A 45 min bus ride away is cieneguilla where it's always sunny and is more naturally green. South of the Panamericana about 4 hours away is Ica, the wine and pisco capital of Peru as well as home to huacachina-the desert oasis where sandboarding, dune bugging and pisco tasting is done, just three hours or so south of Lima is Lunahuana which is a pretty popular sunny place known for it's white water rafting, mountain biking and hikes as well as vineyard and pisco tourism, it also is recognized for it's shrimp dishes and it's mild climate.
