What's life like in South America?

Hi James,

I travel (backpacking) a lot in South America, and I kinda live there, and I love it a lot. Most cartels are in Mexico and not so much in other countries. When you live there you will have no problems with the few cartels unless you are involved in the drug trade. What oppressive regimes are you talking about? There aren't any in South America, or to be more precise not anymore. Whoever told you that South America is hell on earth has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. I know most of South America pretty well, never had any problems with cartels, police, and "oppressive" regimes, etc. I always feel pretty safe. Of course I apply common sense and avoid certain areas, something I even do where I live (California). The people in South America in general are very friendly and there are great place to live. As a matter of fact I will be moving to Colombia within two years time.

Beautiful

its actually a much more cultural and real place than america.... the people are slimmer on average and plenty of nice beaches, hot women and so on.

cartels are in mexico though, mexico is not south america

It's a cool place to live

All I hear about is the Cartels, and horrific stories about oppressive regimes. I'm not talking **** about South America, but I keep hearing how it's a literal hell on Earth. So what's the story?
