Ever since I can remember I've wanted to travel but I guess you can say I'm afraid of the unknown, I just turned 18 in January and I'm already finished with high school so that's not a problem but now I'm going to collage with 4 weeks remaining so I want to finish up school but after that I want to travel so I keep telling myself well after school ill get a job and save up some money but I know deep down that I just keep telling myself that and it will never happen. I don't have any bills or any responsibility (as in a serious boyfriend, baby, or job) so I want to travel before I get these things, for a long time I've felt like I'm not living but simply killing time if that makes since it like I have no excitement in my life I just follow the same routine day in and day out so I just want so badly to grab a backpack throw some clothes in it and take off be it on foot or by bike with no destination in mind and I know it won't be easy and more than likely ill have to pan handle, hitchhike, and probably barter any kind of work experience for board or food but it would be worth it because I would actually be out there and living my dream. I would have to say my biggest fear in life is not doing something with my life that one day 20 years down the road ill realise I'm still living in the same town I grew up in, working at the same jobs for the past 10 years and having nothing big or exciting to show for myself. Do anyone feel this way and if so what have you done to change it, plus any tips or advice from people who actually have just up and travelled with little to no money would be Greatly Appreciated

Aside from that, staying in hostels is the cheapest way to get around. It's a social experience as much as it is a roof over your head.

After reading your experience, i felt that you should move some where so that you will be relaxed.

But you didn't mention which country or place you prefer. So that i am suggesting you should go for a holiday in Sri Lanka a most beautiful place. "Go Holiday Tours" are the best tour operator in Sri Lanka. Hope the information will help you.

Stow away in any non-USA flag bearing ship. Then learn what real work is when found.

Get a job cleaning airplanes and hide in the bathroom as the plane takes off.

Work on a cruise or cargo ship. Free travel and nice slave like working conditions.
