I've been there and been to the volcano. I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to take advantage of this fabulous opportunity.
I think Costa Rica is a great place to visit. But I just am not sure if you are being ripped off or not. What kind of place would you stay at and where? What is the air fare from where you to San Jose? Then multiply the cost of a hotel room by seven nights. Then add up all the activities and then of course the transport to everything. You might save a few hundred dollars on your own, but not much more. But then again I don't know all the activities they are talking about and maybe I wouldn't stay in as a nice place etc... But then again if you haven't traveled on your own before it is probably better you go with the school and get a feel for it.
For that kind of money I don't think you are being completely taken advantage of unless the rooms are terrible and the food is bad. You could do a lot worse.
As long as it is all legitimate it is probably a good deal. And Costa Rica really is a special place.
go if you can afford it .it will open your eyes to another world . to many people i know have never left their state and some their county .its only 8 days that could very easy change your life .and as a extra latin women for the most part a beautiful
That sounds like a good deal! Honestly, this may be the last time you'll have the opportunity to plan a vacation for you for that amount of money. Especially if you've never been out of the country before. At your age, you should try to see as much of the world as possible before you decide what next steps you want to take in life.
If you decide to go, make sure to do a little background reading before you take off: http://www.anywherecostarica.com/travel-...
The average Costa Rican is usually laid back and friendly and Americans are treated with respect and shown hospitality and are almost well liked. Aside from the current social standards of today, Costa Rica has soured relations with the United States in terms of some it’s social policies. Such as the Tradado de Libre Comercio which is a trading agreement that stipulates, that the United States only trades with specific places.

If you do not feel like going do not go .Do only what you FEEL like doing .
It is a good value. The question is whether you would want to spend the money in a different way.
One of the teachers are offering a trip to Costa Rica next summer at my school. It will be an educational trip and 8 days long. The price with the school is about $2,059 and includes, round trip air flight, two meals a day, and room. While we are there we will zip line in the rainforest, visit schools, visit banana factories, and go see the volcanoes and beaches. I'm not really sure if it is worth it or something I even want to do. y the way, I live in Alabama and I will have graduated and be 18 at the time of the trip. What do you guys think? This will also be my senior trip and I think I could have more fun in PCB with friends for a week.
