It's a UNESCO world heritage site. The original capital of Central America. Maybe one of the nicest I've visited. If you make it to Guate, another nice city that's not as old but also quite nice to visit is Xela.
Antigua is a beautiful town in which you could easily spend a week walking around enjoying the churches, ruins, restaurants, jade and chocolate factories and the incredible hand-made fabrics and products created in this culturally rich area. Or, you could just sit in the lovely central park for some of the best people-watching in Central America. For more information in English you can go to www.revue.gt
Antigua is awesome. It is very pretty, lots of old churches to see and lots of little markets.

I want to visit a colonial city and many people tell me Antigua Guatemala is the prettiest! What do you think? Do you have any advice?
