It would be easier for you to buy the calling card and phone him. I've used cards to call Thailand for a couple cents a minute from Portland, Oregon. Go to one of those mom and pop asian or mexican stores. They usually sell phone cards and there will be a list of countries and how much per minute for your phone card. I ask them which one is the best for the country I want to call. Some cards are better for asia and others are better for Mexico. They usually cost $2 or $5 dollars.
