I've been in California for a couple of years now and I moved here from hawaii. The beaches are really disappointing if you come from a place like that of course. I'm wondering if you could recommend good beaches here because maybe I'm missing out on good gems? I really don't like Newport and Huntington etc etc I really want to go to a clear and clean beach that isn't really overcrowded (I heard treasure island is good?)

Ps. Preferably in between San Diego and Orange County, LA is a bit too far for me

Check the Surfrider Foundation website to see which So Cal beaches are the least polluted at any given time. We used to like Mothers Beach until the report came out that the water there is basically 2 parts diesel ship fuel.

? Coronado (San Diego County, California)

? Newport Beach (Orange County, California)

? La Jolla Cove (La Jolla, San Diego)

Crystal cove and Laguna beach are my favorites , La Jolla cove, Catalina (a small island off the coast of southern cal) and Santa Monica pier are also nice too.

Newport Beach Imperial Beach and Coronado Beach are the **** xD
