I live in Antarctica I was working for the state department taking a census of penguins but got fired because I ate some. Soon my power will be cut off and will lose the internet and my only contact with humanity. I still eat penguins, I drink a little too much Vodka also.

Couple of things...

The State Department isn't the department that would send people to take a census of penguins. The State Department is responsible for international relations, not biological science.

The power wouldn't be shut off because if you were fired you'd have to leave on the next plane/boat out. The Antarctic Treaty prohibits people from residing there except to do scientific work.

Any power loss would be accidental and could harm housing systems and would try to be avoided.
