Why does Coca Cola still uses mass media advertising?

Since Coca cola already has billion of consumer and almost everyone knows about them, what is the point of putting up ads on TV and Billboards?

Because they are still selling a product and there are millions of new consumers available every year. In addition, they add new products, change old ones, add promotions.

In the advertising world, we strive for what we call "Top Of Mind Awareness." This means that even if you don't want the product today, when you want something similar, you ask for MY product. By reminding you constantly, they want you to think of them first and buy their product, not their competitor. And it works. how many times have you asked a waitress for a Coke, only to hear "Is Pepsi OK?"

Because marketing and advertising is, in itself, big business. Licensing, partnerships, etc...they profit from it. Joe Schmoe makes money renting out his sign, but Coke makes money reminding people of how thirsty they are for fulfillment..propaganda is a powerful tool. Madmen get rich for their effective commercials and ads.

Not to announce but to remind you OF the creation. It reminds you, "Hey! You're thirsty, right? Remember me? Remember what I tasted like a week ago? That's right, I soothed your taste buds. That gas station, you know where to find me."

Just friendly reminders that they profit off of your costs

to try to gain more sales away from pepsi or other competitors
