What are my rights against dreams?

You cant sue dreams they are not a company they are a a figment of your imagination. *Facepalm* this question

I would contact trading standards, and Watchdog. You may have a case of 'item not as described'.

When you said you initially contacted them about the problem, was this in writing?

In future don't buy from ANY big retailer, and stay away from big brand names if you want good quality at a good price. And instead shop on line, from a retailer who gives a proper satisfaction guarantee, that allows you to unpack and sleep on the mattress. This way it is in their interest to make sure that you make the right choice the first time, otherwise it will cost them money.

If you didn't also buy the base from Dreams at the same time, then you wouldn't qualify for their comfort guarantee anyway.

Someone else said that memory foam is called that because it won't soften over time. Well I'm afraid this is complete rubbish. Memory foam is called memory foam because it is open celled, so when you apply pressure the air seeps out. Then when you release the pressure it will leave an imprint until the air seeps back in. Any mattress that continues to soften for over 18 months must be very poor quality.

Mattresses do take a while to soften up, especially memory foam ones. But 40 days would be plenty of time.

I think you have been told a load of rubbish memory foam is called that for a reason it should stay the same for the life of the mattress you should get in touch with consumer rights.

Bit hard to claim you didn't know about the 40 day period when it is on all their advertising...

contact watchdog? and get them to find **** out, you could go on tv?

I bought a memory foam mattress from dreams and its now past my 40 day comfort exchange which I was never informed existed. My problem is that my mattress is rock hard. The one I lay on in store was soft, the one I have is so hard I have been forced to pay for a chiropractor. I went back, and they told me there is nothing I can do but pay over £100 for a different mattress, but i lay on the bed in store again it is definitely much softer and I feel as though it was falsely advertised as they said it took 18 months for the one in store to become so soft and that is with hundreds of people lying on it everydsy and I don't have the time or money to replace or pay for a chiropractor and I am wondering what my rights are on this?
