Get my money back from online retailer?

under the distance selling regulations they have 30 days to refund your money.

(and I dont see its obvious at all why you dont want to go to court. - if you are entitled to your money back you are entitled to your money back - if dont cost much fro small claims and you get it back when you win)

They have no right to keep your money if they are not providing you with a service and since your order has been cancelled, them keeping any money from you is theft so they most definitely ARE breaking the law.

You can either contact trading standards for some advice or just write to them and try to contact them a couple more times and tell them that you want your money back within 10 days or you will take them to the small claims court. Make a note of all your communications with them. If you do not hear anything from them or get a response then file a claim against them online (MCOL). I assure you that once they receive the papers they will refund you and they will have to refund your court fee too.

First off, double check your given address on the website. If this is correct, then check their terms and conditions. It should state on there everything you need to know. It sounds to me like they ripped you off. I'm assuming you paid by card? In which case they should return to your card, not by cheque. Many people do this now. They will set up a website selling items they don't possess. You pay by card and wait to receive item. They apologise and 'send a cheque'. Then you give up waiting and just forget about the £20. They make a lot of money doing this and its illegal.

If you believe this is the case, call their bluff and send them an e-mail stating that you will take them to court.

all down to customer services...

I don't know the site, only know that these things happen and it becomes increasingly hard to get money off retailers who say they've sent the item and completed the sales & postage.

the only place is trading standards or post a few stinkers of reviews... so other people don't get ripped.

but you are also right, it might be a fake website and thus a scam. more details required

in the future use only online stores everyone knows. Now they might order these shirts and have to wait on manufacturing, at this point theres nothing you can do but get a refurnd from your back or credit card.

does them do not accept paypal? that's crazy over 1 moth couldn't get your items, if they don't give you the tracking number, then they are scam!!! you may call them or e-mail them everyday i think...if i were you, i will do like this, till they return back my money..

?

Hi there,

I bought a T-shirt through an English online-retailer (I live in London):

www.electrictshirts.co.uk

I waited more than 1 month but the T-shirt did not come. I decided to cancel the order and I told them to give me back my money.

They told me that they were going to send me a cheque but I have been waiting for 2 weeks now and I have not received anything.

Is there any British law which says the maximum time you have to wait to receive your money back. Obviously I want to show them that they are breaking the law or at least not being very professional and doing so improving my chances of getting back my money as soon as possible.

Obviously I don't want to go to court for an amount that is less than £20 but I feel deceived.

Thanks a lot,

J.
