I would suggest you that you must choose only Generic Top Level Domains(gTLD). If you want to rank high in Google.com, you must choose a gTLD because these domains don’t target specific countries, and they are widely known.
An SEO expert has mentioned that the new Top Level Domains (TLDs) may have some value, but one should not expect for miracles. It was unclear on whether keywords in the new domain extensions will act as a ranking signal. It might not be more beneficial than the former. The latter TLDs might look better and more natural, however there is no specific guarantee with it yet, and people would still need time to used to them.
Information I have seen suggests that technically the TLD is not supposed to make a big difference in ranking, as long as a legitimate one. Free domains can be search rank poison, Google for example removed all 11 Mililion .co.cc names from it's index after observing a high incidence of fraud in these easy to get poorly managed names.
.com sites come out on top so often probably because the owners of those domains make a bigger investment in the site.
I have seen it suggested the .info sites which commonly offer discounts for the first year, might take an extra year to earn good ranking.
No, .com and.co.uk are the best two at the moment so getting an unusual domain extension will mean you get ranked worse than the .com etc. I would personally say bad because its a sign that you are unable to afford a legitimate domain and therefore you are not a legitimate website. i had several .co domains good ones too but they where all worthless after a while. Everyone recognises this and if you where a company you wouldn't invest in a company called my.pizza rather than mypizza.com now would you
