Everybody who has ever researched SEO knows that back links are the ticket. The problem is getting them.
A general rule of thumb, the harder a link is to get the more valuable it will be, those that can be generated by software robots like blog comments, forum posts or directory submissions all give minimal ranking power. An in body link in a guest article on an authority site may have x1000 the ranking power of a junk blog comment. Negotiating a guest post might start with getting their attention with some insightful comments adding to the conversation.
Google page rank is a useful but not totally accurate gauge of the ranking power of a backlink source, the page rank of the actual page with the link is what counts, too many services talk about the rank of that site's home page.
Good seo requires getting a diversity of links including noFollow links from relevant sites that may not pas any link juice but add to the mix.
None of these tools examine all of the trillions of web pages, very junky sites are most likely to be overlooked by the backlink reporters.
One little tool for finding relevant but low value blog and forum links is this search aid.

blog posting
together with email marketing, newsletter marketing and social media marketing. See that you create accounts with respect to your business in social media sites like pinterest, reddit, stumbledupon, linkedin, facebook, twitter and googleplus. You need to follow these accounts on a daily basis to get more likes and approvals.

I know im supposed to have backlinks to my site but how are you supposed to get good quality ones?
Also ive used a backlink checker and it says I have 73 back links but when I use a website grader tool my score only comes up a 44 and it says I have 0 backlinks and im really confused on the whole thing. So I guess what I really want to know is how do you get good quality backlinks that will actually count toward my website having a better ranking?
