I think you have some catching up to do, the troubles are over they have been over for an number of years. More people attend church in Northern Ireland than the rest of the UK and there is still too much religion in the politics, however people live, work and get on with each other and no one goes around asking what sexual orientation a person is.. .... reality is it is live and let live
Pretty religious, and church attendance there is the highest in the UK, though it is bound up more with the sectarianism of unionist/nationalist than anything. Schools are mostly divided by religious denomination, and it remains the only part of the UK where same-sex marriage is still not allowed (though civil partnership is). It used to be not a good place to be homosexual, though that is improving.
