You don't see many Latinos in the UK, except for in London. Most people from southern or central America just go to the US instead. I've met a couple of Mexicans and Argentinians, but they are a rarity.
Some, but since we did not have colonies there, not many...There are long established SPANISH (from Spain) communities......AND people from Portugal. These did NOT all come POST EU ..Many came in the years after the war...The only people, I have met over the years, from South America, were an elderly Chilean refugee lady, who lived in my flats in London & another Argentinian, with some Italian heritage , and hence also had an Italian passport, working in Manchester.....Also once introduced to a Mexican who worked for a Mexican company based in UK......
There have been a lot of people from Spain and Portugal who have moved to the UK since those two countries joined the EU and got the freedom of movement granted by EU membership. There are a lot fewer people from Latin America - though there are some. Even in this fairly small rural town I know someone from Peru.
I have seen one family from Venezuela walking around a zoo. I identified him thereafter by looking up and finding his Venezuelan national football shirt.
Apart from that I have never met "a latino" as opposed to a Spaniard or Portuguese person.
Not many. We have only tenuous historic links with Central and South America.
There's lots of Mexican restaurants, and occasional Brazilian restaurants (Escobar's in Newcastle is excellent)
