Brits, why are always drinking tea and eating cookies?

Because tea is the best thing ever! And omg it's biscuits not cookies, I feint with horror every time I hear Yankees calling biscuits cookies. It's just an insulting :P

The Brits, and the Irish even more, are the biggest tea drinkers in the Western World by far. When someone calls round, it's normal to offer them a cup of tea. It's engrained into our culture but not everyone drinks tea.,,,,,,,,,!

We drink tea or coffee and eat biscuits, there are special ones called "rich tea" or ginger nuts which are designed for consumption with tea.

Now this is where you are showing your considerable ignorance of British culture and the English language as spoken by its inventors and owners. We NEVER call bisucits "cookies" generically. This word is reserved for a special type of biscuit which is not really suitable for dunking in tea because they fall apart.

Only in the vivid imaginations of Americans who seem to know no better....... 40 yrs since I drank any tea and no such think in the UK as "cookies" if you mean biscuits I don't like biscuits and don't eat them...... so for this Brit( and many others) you are 100% wrong

Why wouldn't we? Oh, and it's 'biscuits' rather than cookies. Good point ... Time for another cup of tea though I'll probably forego the biscuits as it is lunch time here.

I rarely drink tea. I prefer coffee. I eat biscuits, not cookies. However, I don't eat them very often.

Don't judge us by how we are portrayed by Hollywood. Come over and see for yourself.

Biscuits. And I haven't drunk a cup of tea since 2007.

Biscuits, not cookies

And because they like it

I say "they" because I am a "Brit" (WELSH NOT BRITISH) and I don't like tea. That right there is one of the biggest British stereotypes.
